Veterinary assistant (Hawaii Kai)

Animal CARE Foundation is a 501 c 3 nonprofit which operates a veterinary hospital and no kill intervention center in Hawaii Kai.

We are looking for a part time assistant. The position includes patient care and cleaning and eventually you will be trained to assist with medical procedures and invoicing. We see a large number of a variety of patients for wellness and injury/illness daily. We do on average 10 surgeries every day, six days a week in addition to seeing regular clients. Last, there are 40 or more in house adoption candidates or hospice care / permanent residents attended to. This is a very busy and definitely not boring job.

Pay starts at $8.50 an hour. You must be comfortable around animals of all species including but not limited to dogs, cats, rabbits, rats and turtles/tortoises. You must be able to multitask and follow directions, be able to pick up 50 lbs and be able to stand/walk for a full 8 to 10 hour shift. You must have transportation.
