NYC Social Sports Club is looking for part time event staff to join our organization. NYC Social Sports Club offers co-ed recreational leagues in and around Manhattan. The mission of the company is to build a framework for new friendships in NYC, a place where a sense of community can often be hard to find. We do this year-round by producing fun and welcoming leagues with post-game socializing. Our players are adults (21+) from the boroughs of New York City and beyond.

In order to provide well-run leagues to so many people, we keep an active roster of Gamestaff. We're currently seeking Bar Liaisons to join our team. As a member of our Gamestaff, you'll be the face of our company to many players. For that reason, we look for passionate, dedicated individuals with a mind for sports and a flair for fun.

Bar Liaison

Each of our recreation leagues have post game bar parties in which our Bar Liaisons are the only NYC Social employee staffed at the bar. They act as an extension of our Membership department, and are essential in the short- and long-term success of post-game parties. A Bar Liaison is also the person at the party that acts as the social superstar. They are the person who goes out of their way to engage everyone, from the team that is shy and staying among themselves to the loudest and craziest team in the room, in order to ensure a good time is had by all in attendance and that people meet each other. Qualified applicants must thrive in a wild and packed bar setting, possess true social courage, and understand the underlying mechanics of overseeing a party with sometimes over 200 people. This position would be perfect for someone with previous work experience in the events or concert industry, or as a host in a bar or restaurant setting. Applicants should have a huge outgoing personality and know how to interact with people but also be able to keep a responsible eye on the event at the same time.

Bar Liaisons are responsible for:

Bar setup (organizing tables)
Gathering player feedback and suggestions, answering questions
Assist bar staff with in-the-moment adjustments (floor plan, music volume, temperature, etc)
Submitting Bar Reports, in a timely manner, after each shift that not only paints an image of the night but also helps to give an idea of what that event was like as a whole
Maintaining the high-quality and positive-energy events for which we have come to be known.

Shifts: Weekday evenings and weekends both during the afternoon and evening. Nights generally end about 11pm -- Midnight. Candidates with Wednesday and Thursday availability are preferred.

Because the core-work of the Bar Liaison is done solely within our partner bars, all applicants must be of age (21+) if applying for this position.

Applicants MUST be available for a group interview in the evening of Thursday, May 17th.

These are Part-Time positions only.

Benefits include:
Hourly pay rate of $12.50 per hour for first season, $15 per hour for all subsequent seasons
$50 end of season bonus if all shifts are worked & all Bar Reports are filed as scheduled

Ideal backgrounds: Experience in the event industry (including hosting), experience as a host in a restaurant or bar, valet management, any concert industry experience (including box office, coat check, ticket taker/door staff, and or booking with a rock club)
