On behalf of Research Triangle Institute, Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking Part-Time Field Interviewers for a government sponsored research study in Pascagoula, MS area (South East Jackson County). Candidates can also live in the Gautier, Pascagoula, Moss Point, Lucedale areas.

RTI is an independent nonprofit organization headquartered in Research Triangle Park, NC. RTI is dedicated to conducting research that improves the human condition. Field Interviewers will work on the Children's Health after the Storms study (CHATS).

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The CHATS FI position is a part time position offering an average of 20-25 hours per week for approximately one year of work. Field Interviewers will be responsible for traveling to selected homes, conducting research interviews, and collecting environmental samples. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends and must be willing to travel locally.

There will be a 5-day overnight training required for this position from April 18 - 23 (travel expenses, meals, and lodging will be covered by RTI). The location of this training will be Metairie, LA.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Available for entire training and data collection period.
• Have reliable personal automobile available for business use.
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends on a regular weekly basis.
• Conduct screenings, personal interviews, and administer Environmental Assessments following prescribed protocols.
• Accurately complete all project documents, including electronic survey instruments, and all reporting forms.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of progress in the field.
• Travel frequently to participant locations.
• Be outside and exposed to all types of weather.
• Assume responsibility for and carefully track all money used for cash incentive payments.
• Available for possible overnight travel if remote segments are involved in the assignment area.

Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are:

English Language Proficiency: Physicians appointed to direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).

Drug-Free Workplace: The VA has established a Drug-Free Federal Workplace Policy.
