CNC Programmer (Charlestown, IN)
On Time Staffing is currently seeking a CNC Programmer for our client in Charlestown, IN
This is an entry level position so someone straight out of school would be welcome to apply.
Job description is as follows:
Summary: Responsible for providing technical leadership to the Machining CNC process in the facility, both in production and in the tool room as required, including maintaining the program database per revisions and process changes.
Responsibilities (1)
• Perform all duties safely, follow all safety guidelines, and proactively participate in safety programs
• Efficiently program CNC equipment to machine product, optimizing time and quality
• Understand the concepts intrinsic to CNC programing, including speeds, tool movements and changes, tool design and selection, and surface finishes
• Develop and maintain program, cutting tool, and fixture control to include set up procedures and documentation for each production part.
• Provide technical support to the facility tool room for developing tooling programs.
• Understand and implement tool paths from drawings and models
• Cultivate strong partnership with engineering
• Communicate with internal and external customers
• Maintain multiple projects simultaneously and meet appropriate deadlines
• Train production associates as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications (Skills, Abilities, Knowledge) (1)
• Prefer associates degree in CNCC programming or manufacturing technology.
• Knowledge of tooling machining equipment, processes, and procedures (including high speed milling)
• Proficient in CNC programming
• Proficient in CAD/CAM programs utilizing 2D and 3D design (Unigraphics is preferred)
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook primarily) and SAP
• Strong mathematical comprehension (particularly Geometry and Trigonometry)
• General mechanical aptitude
