TOOLING/PROCESS ESTIMATING ENGINEER CL 5868 (Springfield, OH)

JOB SUMMARY:
The Tooling/Process Estimator position is an additional position. The position will initially report to the VP of Engineering. The Estimator will be responsible for developing a finished quote which will be submitted to the customer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
He/she must professionally and effectively communicate both internal and external to the organization.
The person will be responsible for developing the tool layouts, tool estimates, outside service requirements, process routings and preparing estimates.
The person will be responsible for print review and understand GD&T requirements. The person will need to understand process capability and evaluate the feasibility to produce product. He/She must be able to utilize other experts within the organization.
The estimates will list the appropriate equipment to be used, the specific tooling required for each operation, material required, tolerances attainable and a technical estimate of the time required for each operation.
Estimates will be prepared incorporating information from above and including all costs required to produce the product. First drafts of estimates will be presented to the Sales Manager for evaluation. Several drafts may be required before a finished quote is ready for submission.
Process Routing will be a detailed listing of the sequence of the manufacturing process, the specific equipment to be used, production requirements, and any additional information pertinent to the complete processing of the part/assembly. Process Routing will be prepared upon receipt of Purchase Orders.
Our current production price may be adjusted from time to time due to increases from raw material, outside processes, etc. It will be the responsibility of Purchasing to inform Estimating that a change has occurred. It will be the responsibility of the Estimator to update the current quote and provide the revision to Sales.
This person may travel to customers to provide technical support for sales and act as liaison on new opportunities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of five (5) years working with a tool manufacturer in a technical capacity (tool engineer, tool designer, tool maker, etc) Must be able to develop metal stamping layouts. Must understand draw/form dies, progressive dies, transfer dies, gage and fixture designs.
Minimum two (2) years producing tooling & process estimates; specifically for metal stamping, welding, and assembly.
Sufficient knowledge to interpret complex technical drawings with a thorough understanding of GD & T
Proficiency with CAD and Microsoft suite of software; especially Excel.
Thorough knowledge of metal stamping, welding, and assembly processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within a team concept
Demonstrated ability to prioritize personal workload to meet deadlines

MUST HAVE:
Minimum of five (5) years working with a contract manufacturer in a technical capacity (tooling engineer, tool designer, tool maker in the metal stamping industry)
Minimum two (2) years producing process layouts and estimates; specifically for metal stamping, welding, and assembly processes.
Sufficient knowledge to interpret complex technical drawings with a thorough understanding of GD & T
Proficiency with CAD and Microsoft suite of software; especially Excel.
Thorough knowledge of materials, stamping presses, welding processes and assembly
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills within a team atmosphere.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize personal workload to meet deadlines

Associates degree in Engineering or Applied Science minimum (i.e. Applied Science - Tool Design)
