Summary
This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient delivery of ready mix concrete to customer job sites. Deliveries will be made in both commercial and residential areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Drives ready mix truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement, and water.
· Drives ready mix truck to location for unloading.
· Moves levers on truck to release concrete down truck chute into wheelbarrow or other conveying container or directly into area to be poured with concrete.
· Cleans truck after delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in mixer and on truck.
· Adds and removes extension chutes to mixer.

Education and/or Experience

Position Description: Permanent full-time (12 month) tenure track appointment in the Department of Plant, Soil and Entomological Sciences (http://www.cals.uidaho.edu/pses/)
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will have an appointment in the Department of Plant, Soil and Entomological Sciences and will serve as superintendent of the Aberdeen Research and Extension Center. Administrative responsibilities for station management to include personnel management, conflict resolution, and overseeing station operations and budgets. Specific responsibilities include: establish and pursue Center objectives relative to college and UI strategic plans; supervise, train, and evaluate the 13-member Center staff, oversee Center building facilities and farm equipment, and ensure Center compliance with federal safety and security policies. Research responsibilities include the development of an externally-funded, internationally recognized research and extension program in sustainable cropping systems in southern Idaho. The broad area of research will be determining best management practices for sustainable production systems of cereal, potato, sugar beet and other crops grown commercially in Idaho. Potential research areas include, but are not limited to site-specific management using geospatial systems, nutrient cycling and availability in cropping systems, crop water utilization and conservation, and organic production systems. The successful candidate will be expected to obtain external funding. Collaboration with other faculty members in PSES and the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, presentation of research seminars, graduate student education, and participation in professional meetings and publishing in refereed journals is expected. Extension responsibilities will include developing and delivering relevant educational programs in sustainable cropping systems best management practices that engage various clientele groups including producers, crop advisors and regional and county extension personnel. Participate in planning and delivering the relevant Topic Team programming efforts. Participate in planning commodity schools and present seminars, workshops, and other training sessions at relevant conferences and commodity schools. Develop appropriate websites and other relevant media such as popular press articles. Publish appropriate state and regional extension bulletins.
Required Qualifications:
An earned Ph.D. in agronomy or closely related, training and interest in fundamental and applied cropping systems research, and experience commensurate with a position of a tenured associate professor. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to initiate, complete and publish research, work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues and clientele, supervise personnel, obtain external funding, and must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience as an administrator or station manager, including personnel, station, and budget management. Training and experience in determining best management practices and sustainable production systems, e.g. experience with the site specific management using geospatial systems, nutrient cycling and availability in cropping systems, crop water utilization and conservation. Evidence of the ability to design and complete mission-oriented, field-based cropping systems research and extension programs in cooperation with colleagues and industry representatives. Training or experience in developing and delivering extension programs for producers and county educators. Training or experience in advising graduate students. Evidence of participation or willingness to participate in professional activities.
