JOB SUMMARY: This position involves general activities necessary for the physical care and behavioral management of individuals experiencing developmental disabilities. Care may be provided at a consumer's home or an approved provider's home or out in the community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Personal: Must be able to maintain program/guest/agency confidentiality, and treat each individual with dignity and respect. Ability to set and observe appropriate personal limits and boundaries. At least 18 years of age and able to relate well to both children and adults; Demonstrate warmth, insight, interest and respect for persons with disabilities; maintain the ability to cope with emergency situations, e.g. accidents, CPR, seizures, etc. in a calm and efficient manner; have and maintain the ability to carefully follow the program and licensing regulations and procedures; and demonstrate unusual patience and positive attitudes towards persons experiencing developmental disabilities.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, at least one year experience delivering direct care services either in a classroom, daycare, medical or residential setting, and possess current CPR and First Aide Certificates.

Skills: able to provide accurate documentation and paperwork for all assignments; able to identify and act upon potential needs of consumer and/or family.

Physical Requirements: The ability to lift a minimum of fifty pounds. The ability to perform a two person lift of an individual weighing seventy pounds.

Other Requirements: A minimum of 24 hours of field related training must be obtained each year. The employee must accept 10 hours of assignments per month to maintain employment. The employee must have or obtain training in G-tube feedings, seizures, administration of medications and oxygen. These can be obtained through training videos, workshops and written materials on each subject.

Must have reliable, consistent transportation to work site. If consumer transport is part of job duties, may need own vehicle.

Training Requirements: Agency and department orientation; 1st aid/CPR; de-escalation techniques; blood borne pathogens.

Vivint As part of your Service Technician job in Anchorage, AK you will be asked to do the following:

Work out of your home by self-dispatching for on time arrival at daily service calls.
As a service technician you may drive for potentially long periods of time to take care of customers in Wasilla, Palmer, Eagle River, Chugiak and surrounding areas.
With a high amount of customer service, install and service Honeywell Ademco & 2GIG authorized equipment in customers’ homes.
Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials, and clean up installation debris.
Ability to apply a vareity of other skills gained from job categories such as Maintenance, Construction, Electrician, Driver, etc…
Explain system capabilities and operation to customer.
Ensure adequate stock levels of service tech equipment.
Complete all necessary paperwork, including work orders, service orders, customer contracts, and time clock forms.
Assist in promotion and sale of additional equipment/services. Service Technicians have the potential earn a lot of commission depending on how motivated they are to up-sell to current customers.
Exhibit professional appearance and conduct and provide customers with excellent customer service.
All New Hires/Alarm Field Service Technician employees must successfully complete a 2-4 week training in the field.
Must interact and communicate well with customers and fellow field service techs alike.
The job of a service tech also requires the ability to communicate effectively with potentially adverse, difficult or discouraged customers.
Compensation and Benefits

Suggested compensation will be $12-$16 per working hour, or more, based upon experience. Performance Review will be given after 90 days. Raises are only given yearly during appraisals issued by Human Resources.
Reduced hourly rate will apply while in training; Service Tech will work at $1 less than regular rate in the field until manager releases employee to work on his/her own in the Anchorage, AK area.
Overtime may be restricted while in training, but may be required as a trained employee working as an alarm technician.
Fleet Vehicle will be issued to employee as soon as possible. Personal transportation must be provided to all training and jobs prior to receiving a fleet vehicle.
Service Technicians will be responsible for a personal use fee of $200 per month for unlimited/authorized personal use. This includes insurance, gas, repairs, etc. . .
A paid for company cell phone will be issued to each technician.
Misc. compensation will be given. Currently $50 per month.
Additional compensation will be given for accounts sold by service techs.
Additional compensation will be given for equipment “up sold” to customers.
Medical and Dental benefits are available after 90 days of employment but must be requested prior to 90 days of employment or default to the open enrollment period.
You’ll get to know many of your neighbors in as a service technician in Wasilla, Palmer, Eagle River, Chugiak and surrounding areas.
Required Skills
All Service Technicians must have current, valid driver’s license and very clean driving record. If hired, we will run your motor vehicle report, which must meet company standards.
Reliable, state registered, state inspected and state insured transportation is a necessity for the first 90 days of employment.
Participation in Vivint Fleet Vehicle Program including the incurrence of a $200 monthly personal use fee (required).
Must have (pass) a clean criminal background.
All techs must be able to pass a drug test.
Must be a non-smoker.
Must be available to work Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday. Schedule determined by need in Anchorage, AK.
Must be available to work all shifts full time: a 40 hour week M-F and T-S, from 9am-5pm and 12pm-8pm. All schedules must be acceptable to be considered for employment.
Strong analytical ability required to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, management and customers, strong and demonstrated effective verbal, written and listening skills, and professional telephone skills and manners.
Must be able to work as a member of a team.
Preference is shown to those with experience as a Technician (general skills), Electrician (wiring), Construction (working with tools), Customer Service (working with people), and/or Driver (defensive driving from one appointment to another).
Part of your job requires that you be able to stay on feet (standing) for extended periods of time.
